In the late 1950s, several couples from the St. Petersburg area formed a supper club. This social circle soon expanded to include weekend and holiday boating excursions to the local beaches, Shell Island, and Mullet Key.
The founding members included Martha Wood and Sam Caldwell, Carolyn and Harry Dunkle, Marian and Bill Gay, Marion and Johnny Jones, and Kay and Tom McClure.
Established as a non-profit social organization, "The Bucketeers" is guided by a Board of Officers and a Board of Admiralty. The club’s primary mission is to foster social interaction and camaraderie through a series of annual events. Over the years, this tradition has grown to include a New Year’s business meeting, a spring party, a summer family outing, a fall gathering, and a formal ball in early December.

Our Spring Dinner Event officially kicks off the year! It’s a wonderful opportunity for members to reconnect after the holidays and welcome new faces interested in joining our 'merry band' of Bucketeers.

Summer brings warm breezes to our waterfront location. We invite members and their families to join us for a classic barbecue filled with fun, sun, lawn games for all ages and a fun surprise for all to enjoy.

As the air turns crisp, the Bucketeers gather for an energetic evening of dinner and play. Our fall event features everything from spirited shuffleboard tournaments to wonderful waterfront dining.

The highlight of the Bucketeer year is our formal Barataria Ball. Members enjoy an exquisite evening featuring fine dining, premium cocktails, music, dancing, and celebration.
